SPARRING SAFETY TIPS

Sparring is an essential part of training. It allows you to put learned techniques into practice, develop automatic responses, and gain experience in conditions similar to combat. It is not a competition between partners, but a tool for progression. To ensure everyone's safety, the following rules must be respected.

Mandatory equipment

Wearing protective gear is mandatory to participate in sparring sessions:

  • Gloves suitable for the sport and in good condition
  • Mouthguard
  • Shin guards (depending on the sport)
  • Protective shell
  • Helmet if requested by the coach

No sparring will be allowed without all the required protective gear.

Respect for the partner

Sparring is based on respect and trust.

  • Adapt your intensity to the level and experience of your partner.
  • Prioritize control over power.
  • Never seek to hurt or dominate your partner.
  • Follow the coach's instructions at all times.
  • Stop the exchange immediately in case of injury, illness or at the request of the coach.

Discipline

  • Sparring is only permitted under the supervision of a coach.
  • Any dangerous, aggressive or disrespectful behavior will result in the immediate termination of the session.
  • The instructions given before, during and after each resumption must be followed.
  • Each practitioner is responsible for their technical mastery and their behavior.
